How do I choose my NAS?
We understand that this is one of the most important issues for those looking for it and that it makes it difficult to be sure of the investment to be made. We believe that it doesn’t have to be this way and we can help any user (even without knowledge) to be sure that they have made the best choice!

Step 3 – choosing a piece of equipment
To choose a device, you need to have the following data with you:
What purpose and objectives does it have for this server?
Do you just want one server to centralize all your data? Do you want to provide remote access? Do you want to have VM's (virtual machines)? Do video editing on the server?
For VM's it is recommended to include SSD disks, and for Video Editing you must consider the inclusion of NVMe SSD disks (M.2 or U.2/U.3 formats).

How much usable space in TB (Terabytes) you will need
Add up the space occupied by data, on all the disks where you have archived files and photos. Multiply by 1.15 to ensure that it works well and add now the space you anticipate needing in the next 3/5 years. The total obtained is the space you should consider in your choice. It is usually more beneficial and lower cost to choose fewer disks with greater capacity.
How many users will use this NAS and what are their network connections?
As important as being able to process all data and tasks, it is also being able to "deliver them to those who need them. For server-side video editing, you should consider at least 10GbE (SFP+/RJ45) or Thunderbolt (3/4/5) connections. The usual connections of users must be safeguarded in an appropriate switch so that no one is left without access. You should choose an 8-link switch if you have a maximum of 6 users, because the remaining connections will be to the network/internet and to the server itself.
What is the budget available for this investment?
If you conclude that you do not have the necessary capital for what you need, you can, if you are a company with a minimum of 3 years of activity, opt for your monthly financing.
